A Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-300, registration C-FACV performing flight QK-8236 from Vancouver,BC to Terrace,BC (Canada) with 49 people on board, was climbing out of Vancouver when the left hand engine's master caution indication activated prompting the crew to stop the climb at 14,000 feet and shut the engine down. The aircraft returned to Vancouver for a safe landing on runway 26R about 20 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported that an oil pressure switch was at fault.
