A Westjet Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration C-GZWS performing flight WS-1229 from Orlando,FL (USA) to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 173 people on board, was climbing out of Orlando when the crew noticed the elevator felt heavy and required abnormal trim input, all other parameters remained normal. The crew consulted with maintenance and continued the flight to Toronto. Prior to reaching top of descent maintenance advised of a possible failure of the elevator balance tab control mechanism which could lead to further abnormal control forces and large elevator control inputs prompting the crew to declare emergency. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Toronto's runway 33R about 2 hours later.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance found the elevator trim feel computer at fault and replaced it.
