The aircraft was towed to the apron, the runway re-opened about 50 minutes after the rejected takeoff.
A ground observer reported the #3 engine emitted a loud bang and a streak of flame followed by less loud bangs and streaks of flames in regular intervals. The aircraft slowed and stopped on the runway.
