A LAN Airlines Airbus A340-300, registration CC-CQC performing flight LA-704 from Santiago (Chile) to Madrid,SP (Spain), rejected takeoff from Santiago's runway 17R at low speed due to a problem with a main wheel and vacated the runway via taxiway U about 2250 meters/7400 feet down the runway.

A replacement Airbus A340-300 registration CC-CQG reached Madrid with a delay of 3:20 hours.

The airline said, the commander aborted takeoff due to an unusual signal from a wheel and returned to the gate, where the passengers disembarked normally and were directed to another aircraft.
