An American Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration N538UW performing flight AA-713 from Las Vegas,NV to Charlotte,NC (USA) with 174 passengers and 6 crew, was climbing out of Las Vegas' runway 07R when a bird impacted a windshield. The aircraft initially continued the climb, but stopped the climb at FL190 when the windshield cracked. The aircraft diverted to Phoenix,AZ (USA) for a safe landing about 110 minutes after departure.

A replacement Airbus A321-200 registration N543UW reached Charlotte with a delay of 2 hours.
