A Calm Air International Avions de Transport Regional ATR-42-300, registration C-FECI performing flight MO-527 from Winnipeg,MB to The Pas,MB (Canada), was enroute just prior to top of descent when the crew noticed fluctuating oil pressure indications for the right hand engine (PW100). On approach to The Pas the crew received a low oil pressure indication for the right hand engine, went around, worked the related checklists and shut the engine down. The aircraft landed safely in The Pas with emergency services on stand by.

The Canadian TSB reported an inspection of the aircraft found the OSG hydraulic pump gasket leaking. The gasket was replaced, the aircraft subsequently positioned to the company maintenance facility at Thompson,MB (Canada). Maintenance further found the mounting pad on the #2 reduction gearbox was related to the gasket failures. The reduction gearbox cover assembly was replaced.
