A Calm Air International Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-200, registration C-FJCQ performing flight MO-112 from Winnipeg,MB to Thompson,MB (Canada) with 43 people on board, was enroute at FL220 about 75nm south of Norway House,MB (Canada) when the captain's windshield cracked prompting the crew to declare Mayday and descend the aircraft to 9000 feet. The aircraft continued to Thompson for a safe landing about 55 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported: "Approximately 75 nautical miles south of Norway House, MB (CYNE), the entire outer pane of the captain's windscreen cracked. The flight crew completed the checklist items, declared a Mayday and requested clearance to descend from FL220 to 9000 feet ASL."
