A Sunstate Airlines de Havilland Dash 8-400 on behalf of Qantas/Qantaslink, registration VH-LQF performing flight QF-2039 from Dubbo,NS to Sydney,NS (Autralia), was climbing out of Dubbo about 10 minutes into the flight when the left hand engine (PW150) failed and needed to be shut down. The aircraft returned to Dubbo for a safe landing about 25 minutes after departure.

On Dec 11th 2014 The Aviation Herald received information there had been a FADEC failure and the loss of engine oil. The engine was replaced.
