An American Airlines Boeing 767-200, registration N319AA performing flight AA-1165 from New York JFK,NY to Miami,FL (USA), was enroute at FL400 about 160nm northeast of Orlando,FL (USA) when received a right hand engine (CF6) oil filter indication and decided to reduce the engine to idle thrust and start drifting down. The crew subsequently received an oil pressure indication prompting the crew to shut the engine down. The aircraft diverted to Orlando for a safe landing on runway 36L about 35 minutes later, stopped on the runway for a check by emergency services and taxied to the gate about 10 minutes after landing.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled.
