A Dniproavia Boeing 737-500 on behalf of Aerosvit Airlines, registration UR-DND performing flight VV-445 from Odessa (Ukraine) to Moscow Vnukovo (Russia), was on approach to Moscow descending through FL090 when the aircraft was hit by lightning at the right hand side. The aircraft continued for a safe landing at Moscow's Vnukovo Airport.

Ukraine's Ministry of Transport reported in their monthly bulletin that a post flight inspection revealed rivets were missing from the front right fuselage and the tail plane, the top beacon and the tail strobe position lights were inoperative and the wiring of the strobe lights was damaged.
