A passenger reported the crew announced a hydraulic leak as cause for their diversion.
The airline reported a technical issue with the aircraft.
A replacement Boeing 777-200 registration N204UA reached Paris with a delay of about 17 hours.
The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 43 hours before positioning back to Washington and resuming service.
On Jun 14th 2024 the Canadian TSB reported about 4 hours into the flight at position 46°21'N 048°01'W the crew received a Reserve Brake Steering EICAS message followed by a Center Hydraulic System Low indication. The crew decided to divert to Gander, enroute to Gander the crew noticed the hydraulic quantity was further decreasing and declared emergency. Maintenance identified a hydraulic leak from the aft electric hydraulic pump in the right wheel well.
