A Norwegian Air Sweden Boeing 737-800, registration SE-RXB performing flight DY-340 from Oslo to Bodo (Norway), was enroute at FL390 about 210nm southwest of Kiruna (Sweden) and about 180nm south of Harstad/Narvik (Norway) when the crew initiated an emergency descent to 10,000 feet, the passenger oxygen masks deployed automatically, due to the loss of cabin pressure. The aircraft diverted to Kiruna initially but then was redirected again to Harstad/Narvik for a safe landing on Narvik's runway 17 about one hour after leaving FL390.

The airline reported there was low pressure in the cabin, the passenger oxygen masks were automatically released. The aircraft diverted to Kiruna and was redirected again to Harstad/Narvik where the aircraft landed without further incident. The passengers were rebooked onto other flights.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Narvik for about 7 hours, then positioned back to Oslo maintaining a maximum flight level 100. The aircraft is still on the ground in Oslo about 24 hours after landing in Oslo.
