An American Airlines Boeing 787-8, registration N811AB performing flight AA-917 from Miami,FL (USA) to Lima (Peru) with 43 passengers and 12 crew, was enroute at FL410 about 140nm westnorthwest of Kingston (Jamaica) when the crew decided to divert to Kingston due to a cracked windshield. The aircraft landed safely on Kingston's runway 12 about 50 minutes later.

A replacement Boeing 787-8 registration N800AN positioned from Miami to Kingston, continued the flight and reached Lima with a delay of about 6 hours.
