A PIA Pakistan International Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration AP-BMX performing flight PK-304 from Karachi to Lahore (Pakistan), was in the initial climb out of Karachi's runway 25R when the right hang engine (CFM56) ingested a bird prompting the crew to stop the climb at 6000 feet and return to Karachi for a safe landing on runway 25L about 25 minutes after departure.

A replacement A320-200 registration AP-BLY reached Lahore with a delay of about 5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground about 12 hours after landing. The right hand engine received several dented fan blades.
