A PIA Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 777-300, registration AP-BMS performing flight PK-859 (sched. dep Nov 5th, act. dep Nov 6th with delay of 13 hours) from Lahore (Pakistan) to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) with 344 people on board, was enroute at FL340 about 130nm northwest of Karachi (Pakistan) when the crew decided to divert to Karachi after the right hand windshield cracked. The aircraft landed safely in Karachi about 80 minutes later.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Karachi for about 20 hours, then continued the journey and reached Jeddah with a total delay of about 34.5 hours.
