The aircraft however was unable to continue its schedule, next flight assigned was HV-5193, and remained on the ground in Amsterdam for about 21 hours before returning to service.
A passenger booked on flight HV-5193 reported they were already waiting at the gate for boarding when the gate was changed. After boarding another aircraft the crew explained the other aircraft had suffered a bird strike on approach to Amsterdam and was damaged, hence needed to be taken out of service.
