A Transavia Boeing 737-800, registration PH-HZX performing flight HV-6002 from Porto (Portugal) to Amsterdam (Netherlands), concluded a seemingly uneventful flight with a safe landing on Amsterdam's runway 36C and taxied to the apron maintaining routine communication.

The aircraft however was unable to continue its schedule, next flight assigned was HV-5193, and remained on the ground in Amsterdam for about 21 hours before returning to service.

A passenger booked on flight HV-5193 reported they were already waiting at the gate for boarding when the gate was changed. After boarding another aircraft the crew explained the other aircraft had suffered a bird strike on approach to Amsterdam and was damaged, hence needed to be taken out of service.
