Barbados' Civil Aviation Authority reported on Oct 5th 2017, that substantial damage to the tail section of the aircraft was subsequently found (editorial note: there is no mention of a tail strike). The occurrence was rated an accident, Barbados' CAA is investigating the occurrence.
Position data transmitted by the aircraft's transponder suggest the aircraft may have been too low at about 175-200 feet MSL (aerodrome elevation 170 feet MSL) about 550 meters/1800 feet/0.3nm ahead of the runway threshold and may have contacted ground structures. No related NOTAMs were published following the occurrence.
The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Bridgetown until Sep 28th 2017, then positioned to San Antonio via Miami, but has not yet resumed service (standing Oct 5th 2017).
