A Westjet Boeing 737-800, registration C-GWSA performing flight WS-420 from Vancouver,BC to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 155 people on board, was descending towards Toronto when the crew could not extend the flaps. The crew aborted the approach to work the relevant checklists, requested emergency services on standby for a flapless landing and landed safely on Toronto's runway 23 at a higher than normal speed about 20 minutes after aborting the first approach.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance replaced the left flap transmitter.
