An Olympic Air de Havilland Dash 8-400 on behalf of Aegean Airlines, registration SX-OBD performing flight A3-993 from Istanbul (Turkey) to Athens (Greece), was in the initial descent towards Athens when the crew declared emergency reporting the right hand engine (PW150) was shut down. The aircraft continued for a safe landing in Athens about 25 minutes later.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Athens about 78 hours after landing.
