The aircraft is still on the ground in Naxos about 29 hours later.
On Jun 20th 2025 Greek HARSIA reported, that just before the wheels left the ground, a bang was heard. Immediately after takeoff smoke and fire were observed from the right hand engine. The crew received indication "ENG FAIL" and "ENG FIRE", ATC also informed the crew about a fire, and the crew performed the relevant procedures. The aircraft returned to Naxos for a safe landing. The occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated by HARSIA.
