Olympic AT42 and Olympic AT42 near Athens on Aug 7th 2023, TCAS saves the day

An Olympic Air Avions de Transport Regional ATR-42-600, registration SX-OAZ performing flight OA-25 from Milos to Athens (Greece), was enroute at 9000 feet about 30nm southeast of Athens when both aircraft received TCAS resolution advisories instructing OA-18 to descend and OA-25 to climb.
After being clear of conflict both aircraft returned to 9000 feet MSL and continued to their destinations without further incidents.
According to ADS-B data the aircraft were on crossing trajectories at same altitude with about 5nm horizontal separation when TCAS activated and OA-25 began to climb to 9500 feet while OA-18 descended to 8800 feet. When OA-18 crossed the trajectory of OA-25 the aircraft were about 600 feet vertically and 2.5nm horizontally apart. The horizontal separation reduced further to about 1.3nm at 700 feet vertical separation.
The airline reported the "competent authority" was informed about the occurrence on Aug 8th 2023. TCAS operated in a timely manner and TCAS procedures were applied timely, safely and deterrently, so that the aircraft reacted coordinated and appropriately without creating any dangers.
