Transat A313 near Narsarsuaq on Feb 14th 2017, a light, a bag and an odour

An Air Transat Airbus A310-300, registration C-GSAT performing flight TS-122 (dep Feb 13th) from Toronto,ON (Canada) to London Gatwick,EN (UK) with 144 people on board, was enroute at FL360 about 120nm northeast of Narsarsuaq (Greenland) when the flight crew noticed a burning odour on the flight deck. The first officer noticed an illuminated console flood light had detached from its bracket and was resting on a nylon flight bag, that was below the first officer's seat. The heat of the light had caused a small fire which melted the nylon bag. When the light was turned off, the fire extinguished and the odour dissipated. The flight continued to London for a safe landing.

The Canadian TSB reported that no further action was needed after the lamp was shut off.
