An Air Transat Airbus A310-300, registration C-GSAT performing flight TS-631 from Varadero (Cuba) to Montreal,QC (Canada) with 9 people on board, was enroute at FL350 about 80nm south of Orlando,FL (USA) when the crew received a clogged fuel filter indication for the left hand engine (CF6). The crew gradually reduced the left engine's thrust to idle and descended the aircraft to FL310. About 30 minutes later, 130nm north of Orlando, the crew declared emergency reporting the left engine was running rough and diverted to Orlando for a safe landing about 70 minute after leaving FL350.

The Canadian TSB reported that after examination by maintenance the fuel filter system was replaced. After the aircraft continued to Montreal the filters were replaced a second time with no further anomaly found. The cause of the original problem is under investigation.
