A China Eastern Airlines Airbus A330-200, registration B-5973 performing flight MU-552 (dep Feb 14th) from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to Shanghai Pudong (China) with 186 passengers and 17 crew, was enroute at FL350 about 450nm westnorthwest of Krasnojarsk (Russia) when the crew descended the aircraft to FL310 and soon after changed the course to divert to Krasnojarsk reporting a problem with the right hand engine (Trent 772). About 220nm westnorthwest of Krasnojarsk the aircraft drifted down to FL250 and landed safely in Krasnojarsk about 70 minutes after leaving FL350.

A replacement Airbus A330-200 registration B-6123 was dispatched from Shanghai to Krasnojarsk as flight MU-9003, resumed the flight as flight MU-552A departing Krasnojarsk about 15 hours after B-5973 landed.

The occurence aircraft is still on the ground in Krasnojarsk about 17 hours after landing.
