Jazz DH8C near Castlegar on Dec 7th 2016, missing waypoint injures flight attendant

A Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-300, registration C-GVON performing flight QK-8248 from Vancouver,BC to Castlegar,BC (Canada) with 27 people on board, was descending towards Castlegar. While programming the transition from en route to the RNAV A approach into Castlegar into the Flight Management Computer the crew inadvertently missed a way point, as result the aircraft descended below the minimum safe altitude for the sector resulting in the Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) issuing a "TERRAIN" alert. Complying with company procedures the flight crew initiated a climb causing the flight attendant to fall and receive injuries. The flight crew requested medical services for the arrival and continued for a safe landing in Castlegar. The flight attendant was taken to a hospital.

The Canadian TSB reported the flight attendant received serious injuries and rated the occurrence an accident, however, did not open an investigation.
