An Indigo Airbus A320-200, registration VT-IFO performing flight 6E-977 from Delhi to Bengaluru (India), was cleared to climb to FL350 and was about to level off at FL350 about 50nm eastsoutheast of Jaipur, when both aircraft received TCAS resolution advisories, the A320 descended back to FL340, while the KLM accelerated their climb to FL370. After being clear of conflict the A320 climbed to FL350, both aircraft continued to their destinations for safe landings.
India's DGCA reported the separation reduced to 200 feet vertical and 3.6nm horizontal according to radar data. The occurrence was rated a serious incident and is being investigated.
On Nov 25th 2016 KLM reported that there had indeed been a loss of separation with another flight over India. TCAS activated with a traffic advisory, however, the KLM crew did not receive a resolution advisory. The occurrence is under investigation by India's Authorities, KLM supports the investigation.
