A PIA Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 777-200, registration AP-BGZ performing flight PK-798 (dep Nov 18th) from Toronto,ON (Canada) to Lahore (Pakistan), was enroute at FL360 over the North Sea about 220nm northeast of Manchester,EN (UK) when the crew decided to divert to Manchester for a safe landing about one hour later.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 3 hours, then continued the journey and reached Lahore with a delay of 5 hours.

The airline reported in a press release that the toilets of the aircraft choked after something solid was thrown into by passengers. The toilets feature a common drain line, so that all toilets ceased functioning. The aircraft diverted to Manchester where the toilets were serviced before the aircraft was able to continue.
