A PIA Pakistan International Airlines Boeing 777-200, registration AP-BGZ performing flight PK-305 from Lahore to Karachi (Pakistan), was on final approach to Karachi's runway 25L when the aircraft flew through a flock of large birds and received a number of bird strikes. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 25L.

A post flight inspection revealed birds had impacted the nose landing gear causing a hydraulic line to be damaged, one bird remained wedged into the nose gear strut, other birds had impacted to the right hand engine (GE90) causing dents at the engine inlet and a number of birds had impacted the nose of the aircraft.

The aircraft remained on the ground for 33 hours before resuming service.
