A Vueling Airbus A320-200, registration EC-MYC performing flight VY-7333 from Marrakesh (Morocco) to Barcelona,SP (Spain), was on approach to Barcelona and had been instructed to directly fly to ASTEK waypoint for the final approach to runway 06L.

A Buzz Boeing 737-800 on behalf of Ryanair, registration SP-RNT performing flight FR-3050 from Krakow (Poland) to Barcelona,SP (Spain), was on approach to Barcelona's runway 06L but overshot the localizer during the turn to final approach.

Spain's CIAIAC reported the controller instructed the Veling crew to immediately turn right to a heading 180. While the crew was turning, both aircraft received TCAS resolution advisories. Both aircraft followed the TCAS resolutions, after being clear of conflict the B738 continued the approach for a landing on runway 06L without further incident, the Vueling completed a 360 and also landed on runway 06L without further incident.

The CIAIAC reported the minimum separation between the aircraft was 200 feet vertical and 0.6nm horizntal and opened an investigation.
