A Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration C-GGNF performing flight QK-8978 from Ottawa,ON to Montreal,QC (Canada) with 31 passengers and 4 crew, was in the initial climb out of Ottawa when the crew observed the left hand engine's (PW150A) oil pressure had increased to 73 psi and reduced power on that engine, the oil pressure however increased further and reached 140 psi. Descending towards Montreal the crew shut the engine down and continued to Montreal for a safe landing on runway 28 about 40 minutes after departure.

The Canadian TSB reported the engine wiring harness was replaced, which solved the problem.
