A Caribbean Airlines Avions de Transport Regional ATR-72-212A, registration 9Y-TTA performing flight BW-1517 from Tobago to Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago), was on the base leg for runway 10 when the crew declared Mayday reporting a right hand engine (PW127) fire indication. The crew continued for a safe landing on runway 10 about 3 minutes later.

Following the occurrence of Sep 18th 2016 the aircraft had undergone a thorough engineering inspection by the operator as well as ATR and had returned to service on Oct 13th 2016 only.
