The airline confirmed three cabin crew and a passenger received minor injuries as result of the turbulence, that occurred about 40 minutes into the flight.
Passengers reported there were a few minor bumps, the captain announced there was a bit of turbulence around, then there was a major jolt causing everything loose, including cabin crew and passengers not belted in as well meal trays and cups, to impact the cabin ceiling and back the floor. It appeared there were doctors on board, who started to take care of the injured.
Replacement crew members were dispatched to Vietnam. Thus the occurrence aircraft departed again about 24 hours after first departure and reached Auckland with a delay of about 26 hours.
