A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration 9M-MSB performing flight MH-2665 from Tawau to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), was climbing out of Tawau when the crew stopped the climb at FL220, maintaining rather low speed, due to an abnormal gear indication. The crew decided to divert the aircraft to Kuching (Malaysia) located 490nm westsouthwest of Tawau, where the aircraft landed safely about 100 minutes after departure.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about one hour, then continued to Kuala Lumpur and reached the destination with a delay of 2:20 hours.
