On Dec 3rd 2025 Malaysia's Ministry of Transport (MOT) announced, that Ocean Infinity is going to start the search for the missing aircraft on Dec 30th 2025. The search planned for April 2025 had been called off as it was not the right season. The Ministry will pay only if the aircraft has been found.
On Dec 20th 2024 Malaysia's Ministry of Transport (MOT) stated in an interview, that the government accepted a proposal by Ocean Infinity in principle on Dec 13th 2024 to do another "no find, no fee" search for MH-370 based on latest data analysis by experts to cover another area of 15,000 square kilometers in the southern Indian Ocean. The minister stated that the new proposal is a solid one, the contract negotiations are under way and are estimated to be finalized early 2025.
