A Jazz Canadair CRJ-200, registration C-FZJA performing flight QK-8824 from Montreal,QC (Canada) to Washington National,DC (USA), was on final approach to Ronald Reagan Airport's runway 01 when a bird impacted an engine (CF34). The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 01 and taxied to the apron maintaining routine communication. A subsequent departure reported debris at the right hand side of the runway, tower presumed it came off the Jazz flight.

The FAA reported a post flight inspection revealed damage to an engine cowling.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground 19 hours after landing.
