A Shandong Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration B-5856 performing flight SC-8722 from Guiyang to Haikou (China), landed on Haikou's runway 09 and slowed down. However, when the crew attempted to steer the aircraft off the runway the aircraft became disabled due to both left hand main tyres having burst.

The runway and airport needed to be closed until the aircraft could be removed from the runway, a total of 43 arriving flights had to divert.
