A Delta Airlines Boeing 767-400, registration N829MH performing flight DL-71 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Atlanta,GA (USA), was descending towards Atlanta when the crew reported hydraulic problems and requested emergency services on stand by for the arrival. The aircraft landed safely on Atlanta's runway 27R, the crew advised no assistance was needed, emergency services were called off, and began to vacate the runway onto taxiway M and contacted ground when an airport operations vehicle performing the runway inspection reported the right main gear was smoking pretty bad. The crew of another aircraft reported on ground frequency that the right main gear was smoking pretty badly, too, the Delta crew stopped the aircraft on taxiway M and requested the trucks advising it could be hydraulic fluid dripping onto the hot brakes. The aircraft remained in position on taxiway M for about one hour with emergency services monitoring the aircraft, then the crew advised that the temperatures had come down sufficiently to be able to taxi to the apron.
