A Brussels Airlines Airbus A319-100 on behalf of Thomas Cook Belgium, registration OO-SSC performing flight FQ-816 from Brussels (Belgium) to Marrakech (Morocco) with 140 people on board, was climbing out of Brussels' runway 25R when an engine (CFM56) ingested a bird prompting the crew to level off at FL070 and return to Brussels for a safe landing on runway 25R about 40 minutes after departure.

A replacement A319-100 registration OO-SSR reached Marrakech with a delay of 3 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground about 12 hours after landing.
