A Wideroe de Havilland Dash 8-300, registration LN-WFH performing flight WF-474 from Kristiansand to Stavanger (Norway), was climbing out of Kristiansand when the crew stopped the climb at FL120 due to problems with the oil pressure in one of the engines (PW123B). The crew decided to return to Kristiansand for a safe landing about 20 minutes after departure.

The airline reported the crew noticed a decreasing oil pressure, which in itself is not dramatic, but if the engine is operated at too low an oil pressure it can be destroyed. The crew decided to return as a precaution.

The passengers were rebooked onto the next flight.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Kristiansand.
