A Gulf Air Airbus A330-200, registration A9C-KC performing flight GF-3 from Bahrain (Bahrain) to London Heathrow,EN (UK) with 89 passengers, was enroute at FL400 about 25nm east of Oostende (Belgium) when the crew initiated an emergency descent to FL100 due to the loss of cabin pressure. The aircraft continued to London for a safe landing on runway 09R about 40 minutes after leaving FL400.

The airline confirmed a technical problem that prompted the crew to perform an emergency descent. The aircraft landed safely at London Heathrow Airport.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground about 5 hours after landing.
