An Iran Airtour Airline McDonnel Douglas MD-82, registration EP-MDE performing flight B9-900 from Mashad to Tabriz (Iran) with 150 people on board, had safely landed on Tabriz's runway 30L at 12:11L (08:41Z), slowed to taxi speed and was about to turn around when the nose gear went off the paved surface of the runway disabling the aircraft. The passengers disembarked onto the runway, the aircraft was subsequently towed to the apron.

Iran's official news agency IRNA reported, quoting the airport director of Tabriz Airport, the occurrence happened just prior to departure to Mashad (flight B9-901), scheduled at 13:15L.

Ground witnesses reported the occurrence happened at 12:30L after the arrival from Mashad (B9-900), which is scheduled at 12:30L.

Earlier media reports, quoting the airport director of Tabriz, also reported the aircraft went off the runway during arrival from Mashad at 12:30L, flight B9-900.

The Airport of Tabriz officially reported, that the aircraft had safely landed arriving from Mashad at 12:11L (08:41Z) and was about to maneouver to taxi to the apron turning around on the runway when the nose gear went off the runway disabling the aircraft.
