An Asiana Airlines Boeing 747-400, registration HL7428 performing flight OZ-541 from Seoul (South Korea) to Frankfurt/Main (Germany) with 340 people on board, had levelled off at cruise level 340 and was about 10 minutes enroute when the crew decided to return to Seoul reporting problems with the fuel system. The aircraft descended to FL330, on approach to Seoul entered a hold at 10,000 feet to dump fuel and landed safely about 135 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 747-400 registration HL7418 departed Seoul as flight OZ-5413 the following morning and is estimated to reach Frankfurt with a delay of 20.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft departed the following day for the next day's flight OZ-541.

The airline reported a warning light prompted the crew to return as a precaution, the indication disappeared during the return. The passengers were taken to hotels and departed for the Frankfurt the following day.
