An American Airlines Boeing 757-200, registration N942UW performing flight AA-750 from Philadelphia,PA (USA) to Brussels (Belgium) with 158 passengers and 9 crew, was enroute at FL310 about 40nm southeast of New York,NY (USA) when the crew declared emergency requesting to return to Philadelphia, no assistance was needed but an an overweight landing would occur in Phialdelphia. They had a galley oven fire, the cabin was smokey, the fire was extinguished. The aircraft landed safely back in Philadelphia about 50 minutes after departure.

The FAA reported the aircraft returned after reporting a fire in the cabin.
