An Air Nelson de Havilland Dash 8-300 on behalf of Air New Zealand, registration ZK-NEH performing flight NZ-8089 from Wellington to Invercargill (New Zealand), was descending towards Invercargill when the crew advised of a hydraulic failure affecting their primary brakes, they would be using alternate brakes for landing. Emergency services went into their stand by positions, the aircraft landed safely.

ANZ reported a hydraulic warning light came on.
