An Air Corsica Airbus A320-200, registration F-HZPG performing flight XK-256 from Bastia to Marseille (France), was climbing out Bastia's runway 34 when the crew reported a bird strike, stopped the climb at 2000 feet and returned to Bastia for a safe landing on runway 34 about 8 minutes after departure.

A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration F-HBSA reached Marseille with a delay of 4:40 hours.

The occurrence aircraft resumed service the next morning about 12 hours later.
