A Sunexpress Deutschland Boeing 737-800, registration D-ASXO performing flight XG-1150 from Antalya (Turkey) to Stuttgart (Germany), was descending towards Stuttgart when the crew reported they could not extend the flaps. The crew aborted the approach at about 3700 feet MSL, climbed back to 5000 feet MSL and entered a hold to work the related checklists. The crew subsequently advised they would need to perform a high speed landing. The aircraft landed safely on Stuttgart's runway 07 about 45 minutes after aborting the first approach at a higher than normal speed (touchdown at about 180 knots over ground).

The occurrence aircraft was able to resume service about 3.5 hours after landing after a faulty proximity switch was replaced.
