A Sunexpress Deutschland Boeing 737-800, registration D-ASXS performing flight XG-1691 from Frankfurt/Main (Germany) to Ankara (Turkey), was enroute at FL370 about 100nm westnorthwest of Bucharest (Romania) when the crew decided to divert to Bucharest's Otopeni Airport following an altercation on board, during which two male passengers attacked and injured a flight attendant. The aircraft landed safely on Otopeni's runway 26L about 20 minutes later, police took the two unrulies into custody, the flight attendant was treated by waiting medical staff.

The airport reported the flight attendant was able to continue duties after treatment.

The aircraft, that had departed Frankfurt with a delay of one hour already, departed Bucharest after about 3 hours on the ground and reached Ankara with a delay of 4:45 hours.
