A Flybe de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration G-ECOP performing flight BE-632 from Guernsey,CI to Southampton,EN (UK), was on approach to Southampton when the crew aborted the approach due to a flaps indication. A short time later the aircraft positioned for another approach but again aborted the approach again due to a flaps indication. The aircraft positioned for a third approach without landing flaps and landed safely at a higher speed than normal.

A passenger reported that the aircraft aborted to the approach to Southampton, the captain announced they had a warning indication and entered a holding pattern to work the checklists. A short time later the captain announced the problem had been resolved. The landing gear was lowered but soon retracted again, the captain announced the problem hadn't been solved and they now needed to land with less than normal landing flap setting at a higher than normal speed. The passenger observed the flaps were lowered just a few inches and remained in that position throughout approach and landing. The flaps were still in that position after the passenger disembarked the aircraft.

The return flight BE-633 from Southampton to Guernsey was cancelled. The incident aircraft was able to resume service the following day.
