A PIA Pakistan International Airlines Airbus A310-300, registration AP-BGR performing flight PK-731 (sched. dep Sep 5th, act dep Sep 6th) from Karachi (Pakistan) to Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), was landing at Jeddah when one of the main wheels locked up causing the tyre to burst. The aircraft came to a safe stop, emergency services responded and doused the wheel.

The airline confirmed a wheel jammed causing tyre damage during landing at Jeddah, the situation was kept under control.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 33 hours before performing flight PK-732D, that reached Karachi with a delay of 32 hours.
