A PIA Pakistan International Airlines Airbus A310-300, registration AP-BEC performing flight PK-211 from Islamabad (Pakistan) to Dubai (United Arab Emirates), was climbing out of Islamabad when smell of smoke as result of an electronic malfunction prompted the crew to return to Islamabad for a safe landing about 50 minutes after departure.

A replacement Airbus A310-300 registration AP-BGQ reached Dubai with a delay of 9 hours.
